Company History

EMIL DEISS KG (GmbH + Co.) was founded in 1931 as a factory manufacturing sacks in Hamburg Germany. The most important products then were jute sacks for packing products such as raw coffee, cocoa beans and spices.

In the beginning of the 1970s, the company started to specialise in bin liners and refuse sacks, in particular, bags made of polyethylene. New areas of application such as in hospitals, cleaning buildings etc were created. At the same time, the company expanded operations from the north of Germany step by step to cover the whole German market.

In 1999 the first big step was made into a foreign market. By establishing a branch in Vienna, Austria, EMIL DEISS KG (GmbH + Co.) began to build its international business.

Today we are not only the market leader in Germany and Austria but we are also active other markets including Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxemburg, Switzerland, Ireland, France, Slovenia, Estonia, Lithuania, Great Britain, Italy, Spain, Greece, Portugal, Sweden, Norway and Finland.
